PUGBASH
RULES OF THE COMPETITION
Deadline
You must submit photos or video of your completed model by x date in order to have a place in the voting.
Base Model
You must use the Hornby ‘Caley’ Pug 0-4-0ST. These can be had on eBay for less than a tenner in auction, or at model shows, facebook marketplace etc.
The ONLY exception to this rule is if you are using just the chassis/mechanism and NONE of the body, in which case you can use the Holden 0-4-0T chassis as it’s the same and may be easier to come by.
Future competitions will use different base model.
Frankenloco
You CAN combine the Caley Pug with other parts of other locos, however it is the judge’s decision as to whether you are taking the mickey (e.g. only using the safety valves from the Pug in a completely different loco would be an extreme example) in which case you will be disqualified from winning.
All Pugs Great and Small
Any scale and any gauge is permitted.
‘Here’s One I Made Earlier’
You can’t enter a model that was built before the start date of the competition.
Phone a Friend
Collaboration and ‘horse trading’ of skills is allowed. You could even commission someone to build it for you for money, although if you do, I might have to get you some help as that’s ridiculous.
The Spirit of Pugbashing
The rules are deliberately a bit sparse, if you have been on the Pugbash thread you will know that the whole idea is to get people to be creative and inventive with their modelling. Although there will be one ultimate winner, remember that the key thing is to get stuck in and accomplish something YOU are happy with.
Voting
The public will get to vote on the winning model. One person, one vote. Please don’t game the system in order to win, it’s not cool. What is cool is pugbashing.
Prizes
The prizes are:
